5 Tips for Growing Your Local Business

  1. Attend Local Events

As a business owner, there is great value in attending networking events. Networking events allow you to connect with people in your local area. These events are great for raising awareness about who you are and what you do. It will allow people to think of you when they need your business’s products or services. At the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce, we provide you with many excellent opportunities to network with other businesses in Woodstock and surrounding area. Here is a list of our upcoming events:

Annual General Meeting

When: June 28, 2017 – 11:30 am – 1:00 pm

Where: Quality Hotel & Suites

We are proud to welcome RBC Olympian Tyler McGregor as our guest speaker at our Annual General Meeting. Despite being the youngest member of the Men’s National Sledge Hockey Team, with skill and spirit, Tyler helped Canada capture gold at the 2013 World Championships in Goyang, South Korea. After competing for Team Canada in his first Paralympic Games, he became a bronze medalist at the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi. Tyler was named assistant captain during the 2014-2015 season, helping Canada capture a silver medal at the 2015 World Championships.

Annual Golf Tournament

When: July 5, 2017 – Registration 9:30 – 10:30 am – Shot Gun Start: 11:00 am – End: 7:00 pm

Where: Craigowan Cardinal Golf Group

We would love to have you join us at our Annual Golf Tournament. The day includes a continental breakfast, bbq lunch, and dinner. This event is limited to the first 160 paid golfers. Register today to reserve your spot.

Business After Five- Davidson ProTruck Inc.

When: September 15, 2017 – 5:00 – 7:00 pm

Where: Davidson ProTruck Inc.

Free

Davidson ProTruck will be hosting our Business After Five at their shop. BBQ finger foods and beverages will be served. Davidson ProTruck will be sharing what services they offer for the commercial truck and trailer repair industry. There will be a quick demonstration with a truck running on natural gas to show the reduction in emissions when using dual fuel vs. diesel. Catering will be done by McLay Brother BBQ. Upper Thames Brewing Company will be here serving two different beers. Red and white wine will also be available.

It increases awareness about who you are and what you do. It also allows you to answer common questions or address problems that your target audience may be having. This will allow people to trust your business as a source of valuable, reliable information.

5. Giveaways and Coupons

Providing your customers and potential customers with a giveaway or coupon will bring value to your business. Everyone loves a deal and many people are more likely to try your products and services for a discounted rate. Coupons also allow you to create and use unique tracking codes to see who is using a coupon and where they are coming from. This will allow you to better understand your customers and target audience.
