The Woodstock Chamber hosted the Honourable Bob Chiarelli, Minister of Energy on Monday, April 11th at Firestone Textile Ltd.  Minister Chiarelli outlined the commitment of the Ontario government to promote energy conservation for small and medium sized businesses.  Chris Fordyce, Firestone Textile, who has implemented many of the cost saving programs, presented on the process and gave a cost benefit analysis, citing significant savings.

The five-point plan the government will be using includes:

  1. Promote the use of energy managers
  2. Market business conservation programs
  3. Enhance business conservation
  4. Work to make on-bill financing available
  5. Provide long-term stable funding for conservation initiatives
